Wayne County Reads has selected “The Pleasure was Mine,” a novel by Tommy Hays, an Asheville author, as our 2012 book.

Mr. Hays will come to Wayne County in February for three events. He will read from his book and talk about it during our kickoff event Tuesday, Feb. 7, beginning at 7 p.m. at Moffatt Auditorium, Wayne Community College. He will then lead a book discussion Wednesday, Feb. 8, beginning at noon, at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Library, and then lead a creative-writing workshop at 7 p.m. that evening at Moye Library, Mount Olive College.

Wayne County Reads has several other events planned during February, including book discussions, a panel discussion about issues surrounding caregivers and Alzheimer’s disease, and a Festival for the Ages. See our schedule page for more information.
